2008 Wakarusa Music Festival Reviews and Photos

Bad weather killed the start of Wakarusa on Thursday with high winds and rain and Sunday it reared its ugly head again with moisture causing the cancellation of most of the late music, including Mickey Hart and Dweezil Zappa. Glad I decided to spend the weekend in DFW…..

Here is what I found so far and if you have a review or pics to add, send me a shout.

• Back To Rockville – Kansas City Star was on the scene with Thursday, Friday, Saturday and the Finale/Redux.
• Pop Free Radio – was only able to make it Sunday (that bites)
• Wayward Blog – Pics with reviews of Day 1, 2, 3 and what was left of 4
• A Novel No One Will Read – not quite a book, but lengthy
• ProgBlogSTL – amused by white guys dancing (or attempting anyway)…. I learned long time that most have no rhythm, no matter what they are taking/drinking, but funny to point and laugh
• StellaPuella – Great, that ZZ Top song will be banging around in my head all day
• Karlas Cottage – have to start them young
• Lawrence.com – When a press pass really is not a press pass…
• Consequence of Sound – Day 1 and Day 2 up and running…. Update: Day 3 and Day 4
• University Daily Kansan – Hey, at least he missed all the weather
• Lawrence Journal World – take a gander on the left hand side, a ton of stories, photos with some video thrown in

Update: June 10th

• Jambase.com – Nathan Rodriguez and Andrew Wyatt teamed up for a rundown of epic proportions. Met Andrew last year at Wakarusa and again at 10KLF, very cool guy….
• The Marquee – Brian gives a complete weekend overview, with video of the storm on Thursday and also a bit of The Flaming Lips
• Coventry Music Blog – almost an hour-by-hour breakdown of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with pics to boot
