Gathering of the Vibes Festival VIP Review & Photos - 2007

The VIP package cost me $385. Here is what was included in the price.

  • VIP Tent –  A ton of area with tables and chairs and a couple of couches for hanging out and was well used during the rain on Friday. A raised platform was in front of the VIP tent for viewing of the stages (very good idea). A small area was set aside for massage tables. There was also a huge TV set up with video games for the kids to keep them from underfoot.  Plenty of bathroom space available.

  • Viewing  of the Stages – The VIP tent was off to the right side of the Main Stage about 20 yards away. The 2nd stage  was about 40 yards away straight ahead of the tent. People I met that have gone to other GOTV festivals said VIP viewing of the past was closer and could get within 10 feet to take pics. Still it made for good viewing of the Main Stage.

  • Camping – The VIP campground was located about 150 yards from the festival grounds and since I did not have a car I found a spot fairly easily. As with all festivals, the earlier you get there the better as people tend to squirrel away real estate for their buddies who show up later.

  • Showers / Bathrooms – Showers were about a 100 yard walk from where I pitched a tent to the gym in the local college and were communal, with 6 shower heads in the men’s area. The temperature was hot and were open 6AM to 6PM. There was also a shower trailer in the general camping area with individual stalls that was easy to get into early in the morning. Port-a-potties were used for bathrooms in the camping area.

  • Food – We had lunch on Friday and Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Lots of comfort food such pasta, lasagna, meat loaf as well as a couple of veggies with each lunch time meal. A salad bar was available as well as a variety of cakes for dessert.  They were also fruit, potato chips, pretzels, chips and salsa from Green Mountain Gringo and Bear Naked granola for snacks.

  • Drinks - No. 9 and Circus Boy from Magic Hat Brewing Company were available for $2/glass (they were going for $4 on the festival grounds) as well as coffee, soft drinks, hot tea and bottled water.

  • Extras –  Festival T-shirt and poster as well as a canvas bag filled with different products from Nature’s Gate.

  • Security – They would check your ID or wrist badge coming into the VIP areas but were not intrusive at all. I did see a few uniformed cops over the weekend, but were friendly as far as I could see.

Overall it was a good experience that I would do again. My only real gripe is with the lack of Port-a-Potties in the camping area, but I am sure that will be remedied next year.
