10KLF Artist I have not seen before - Part 3

Next up on the have not seen list is Zappa plays Zappa, which is Frank Zappa’s son, Dweezil, playing the tunes of his late father on the Main Stage on Thursday, July 19th. Can not believe it has been almost 14 years since his death.

Can’t say that I ever got much into Frank Zappa’s music when he was alive, which is a product of the ignorance of my youth, but I am looking forward to the version that his son will bring to life. On the stage with Dweezil will be a group of talented young musicians such as Jamie Kime on guitar and Scheila Gonzalez on keyboards and saxophone. Also coming along for the ride is Ray White, a guitarist and vocalist who started touring with Frank Zappa back in the mid-70’s and more recently worked with Umphrey’s McGee.

I went looking on YouTube for some of the band’s videos, but most were not great quality with either bad sound or the video moving around so much that you wanted to heave. I did find these two, including one with Dweezil and Steve Vai who might be joining the band again on their international leg of the tour later in the fall.
